Pastor Gordon Blesses the Bikers

Riders from Sooke, Victoria, Duncan, Sidney, and the Lower Mainland came together this month for a Bikers' Blessing and ride in sunny Sooke. The event was conceived and carried out by Pastor Gordon Kouwenberg, of the Knox Presbyterian Church in Sooke. This was the 2nd annual Biker Blessing and Ride that Pastor Gordon, a fellow rider himself, has hosted at the church in Sooke.

The turnout was great and the weather was perfect for the ride out to Jordan River.

The day coincided with The Royal Canadian Legion's parade to celebrate VE Day, so the riders rode with the end of the parade as a bonus!

Laminated copies of the blessing text available for all those who wished to take one, and Pastor Gordon has said he is delighted that most riders said that they would be carrying them with them all season.

Heartfelt thanks to Pastor Gordon for putting on such a great event and for his care and concern for all those on two wheels.
